Weekend Wisdom: Less wanting, more giving. Less stress, more magic. Less guilt, more peace. Less hustle bustle, more silent nights.
Maybe just the lights.
Every year, I think … maybe just the lights. I used to be an enthusiastic holiday decorator. By enthusiastic I mean that absolutely everything was on display and for each holiday season, I needed more. As I simplified, I pared down my decor from several boxes to one. Now decorating with less feels more meaningful and comforting. As a bonus, it requires less stuff, less time and less energy so that I can be in the holiday magic instead of continually trying to create the holiday magic. This year, we found a smaller tree which will hold fewer ornaments and one year, in the near future … maybe just the lights.
